Connection type

USB wired keyboards are simple and useful for troubleshooting. Wireless models may use a USB receiver or Bluetooth, each with different setup requirements.

Layout and size

Confirm the language layout, numeric keypad needs and desk space. Compact boards can move navigation keys or require function layers.

Practical quality signals

Prefer documented Windows compatibility, a clear warranty and a workable return policy. Backlighting and switch type are preferences, not compatibility requirements.
